Macaron Fillings
If you're using our Bake-it-Yourself Macaron Kits to make your very own French Macarons, we've compiled two of our favorite filling recipes below so you can complete your treats!
Chocolate Ganache
1/2 c. Chocolate Chips
2 Tbsp Unsalted Butter
2 Tbsp Heavy Cream (can substitute Milk)
1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
Pinch of Salt
Bring Cream and Butter just to a boil in small saucepan. Remove from heat (or microwave in microwave-safe bowl for ~1.5-2 minutes)
Pour mixture over top of SemiSweet Chocolate Chips. DO NOT STIR.
Cover for 2 minutes (to keep in the heat), allowing Cream mixture to melt Chocolate
Add Vanilla Extract and Salt. Stir until fully melted and mixed
Vanilla Buttercream
1/2 C. Butter, room temperature
~2-3 C. Powdered Sugar
1/8 C. Milk
1/2 Tsp Vanilla Extract (or any other flavored extract you want to use)
1/4 Tsp. Salt
Cream Butter for 1 minute. Add all other ingredients (start with 2 cups Powdered Sugar). Beat slowly until combined.
Beat 4-6 minutes on high until fluffy and smooth. Add more Powdered Sugar if frosting is not stiff enough, and beat until fluffy
Note: You can easily change the flavor here using whatever flavor extract you want. Some of my favorites: orange extract, almond extract, or mint extract.
